Artificial Intelligence in the Military Domain: Technical, Legal and Ethical Perspectives

online
Webinar with Dr. Elisabeth Hoffberger-Pippan and Dr. Thomas Reinhold

How do Artificial Intelligence and military strategies converge? The Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation (VCDNP) hosts a webinar on the topic of technical, ethical and legal perspectives on Artificial Intelligence in the military realm. Rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) are already transforming battlefield tactics from the use of drones to assess potential targets, to optimising equipment maintenance, to intelligence analysis. As progress in AI continues, governments are trying to find common ground on the safe and secure development, deployment, and use of AI in military systems. The webinar speakers will discuss the technical advances in military AI and the legal and ethical considerations for their use. For CNTR, Dr. Thomas Reinhold will be one of the speakers next to Dr. Elisabeth Hoffberger-Pippan (PRIF) and Dr. Alexander Blanchard (SIPRI). The event will be streamed online on YouTube.

More information on the webinar and the registration can be found on the VCDNP website
