At this year's edition of the Leibniz Association's online event “Book a Scientist”, CNTR scientists will once again be available for direct discussions with all interested parties. This time, Fabian Unruh will be taking part. The online exchange will take place on June 03, 2025.
Fabian Unruh talks about “Nuclear weapons and the role of technology in disarmament”. The Russian invasion of Ukraine and repeated nuclear threats by President Putin and his entourage brought nuclear weapons back in the discussions of Western societies. Do we need a “German nuke”? What happens if Russia uses nuclear weapon? Should we disarm nuclear weapons and how? In this conversation you can talk about nuclear weapons, their history and physical principles and how nuclear arms control treaties work.
At the “Book a Scientist” online event, interested parties can talk online for 25 minutes with an expert from the Leibniz Association. The individual one-on-one meetings take place between 10–11.30 and 16–17.30. Appointments can be booked on the Leibniz website. The event is held in German and English.
