Arms build-up instead of disarmament is the new security doctrine. Military spending is rising worldwide. The new peace report by the four leading institutes for peace and conflict research in Germany addresses this turning point in history, in which arms dynamics—combined with new military technology such as satellite technology, drones, and artificial intelligence—are changing the nature of war. Using the example of Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, this development will be discussed at the Frankfurt Peace Forum and examined from a security and peace policy perspective.
