„Drohnen“ lautet der Name für männliche Wildbienen – aber auch für Hightech-Produkte, die in Kriegen eingesetzt werden. Sie können Menschenleben retten oder zerstören. Durch Drohnen ist ein Krieg am Bildschirm und per Joystick möglich. Die Veranstaltung widmet sich dem Thema unter verschiedenen friedensethischen und friedenspolitischen Gesichtspunkten. Etwa: Was sagt die evangelische Friedensethik zu diesem Thema? Welche Regelwerke existieren auf internationaler Ebene bereits? Werden diese Regeln respektiert, oder sind sie bloß auf dem Papier vorhanden? Wie könnte sich die gegenwärtige Bundesregierung einbringen, um notwendige Regelungen voranzubringen? Fest steht schon jetzt: Uns drohen die Drohnen – aber was droht uns noch? Wir laden Sie herzlich ein, diese Fragen mit Expert/innen aus Wissenschaft, Bundeswehr, Politik und Zivilgesellschaft zu diskutieren.
“Drones” is the name given to male honey bees – but also to high-tech products used in warfare. They can save or destroy human lives. Drones make it possible to wage war on a screen and with a joystick. The event will address the topic from various perspectives of peace ethics and peace policy. For example: What does Protestant peace ethics have to say on this topic? What regulations already exist at the international level? Are these rules respected, or do they only exist on paper? How could the current federal government get involved in order to promote the necessary regulations? One thing is already clear: drones pose a threat to us – but what else threatens us? We cordially invite you to discuss these questions with experts from academia, the German Armed Forces, politics, and civil society.

The event is a public panel discussion. Participants are invited to actively participate with questions and brief comments. The aim is to have a realistic, forward-looking dialogue on how AI can be responsibly designed and regulated – beyond alarmism.
