In 2024, Una Jakob became a member of the Biosecurity Strategy Group of CEPI (Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations). CEPI's mission is to accelerate the development of vaccines and other biologic countermeasures against epidemic and pandemic threats. It was founded in Davos as a response to the 2014–2016 West Africa Ebola epidemic, and aims to develop and use new vaccines to prevent future epidemics. CEPI is funded by over 30 national governments, the European Comission, and several public investors.
Una Jakob is Head of the Research Group “Chemical and Biological Weapons Control” at the Cluster for Natural and Technical Science Arms Control Research (CNTR). Her research focuses on the non-proliferation and disarmament of chemical and biological weapons as well as on biosecurity issues.
